DIABETES



      Diabetes is a long term disorder characterized by increased level of glucose (sugar) in the blood.

CANCER


                                                   Cancer is a general term used to describe cells that grow and spread around the body in an uncontrolled way. Cancer is essentially a disease of cell division (uncontrolled cell division).

Causes of Cancer: -
          There is no one single cause for cancer. The factors involved may be genetic, environmental or constitutional characteristics of the individual.

Risk Factors for cancer: -
          A risk factor is anything that may increase a person’s chance of developing a disease.
1)     Life style: - Smoking, High fat diet, Lack of exercise
2)     Genetic factor: - Family history, Inheritance
3)     Environmental hazards: - Ultra-violet rays, Pesticides, Fertilizers
4)     Viruses: - Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) – Cervical cancer
               Hepatitis B & C virus – Primary liver cancer
               Human T-cell leukemia virus – Leukemia
